Actually, we were not prepared for the level of service in this hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The room is decorated with good taste and is spacious, the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is very convenient. In the room, we were welcomed by a small bottle of local sparkling wine in a bucket with ice and a couple of petit fours. There was a Nespresso coffee maker and capsules free to use, a couple of wine bottles, and a minibar. The hotel offered a parking place for a fee. We also dined in the hotel's 2-Michelin-star restaurant, an exceptional 7-course menu dinner. The hotel is located very close to the city center, and a selection of restaurants and bars are nearby. Not far away, you can find the market square with many restaurants surrounding it. Also, there is a shopping street close by.

This hotel has the highest specifications of design, quality and service. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with plenty of choice. Service was also polished. Look forward to returning. The owner met us at the door at the appointed arrival time and said that he had given us an upgrade - we were amazed at the size of the apartment and the huge covered balcony area. Spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The owner has wine and beer on sale and also pointed us in the direction of the very good local supermarket for breakfast the next day (Sunday) . Looks like a lovely area with plenty to do on a longer break. It was just a 5 hour jaunt back to Eurotunnel the next day, via Luxembourg to fill up with diesel!

Located 700 metres from Congress Hall, Holiday Inn Express - Saarbrücken offers rooms with air conditioning in Saarbrücken. The hotel is clean, spacious, well lit and has easy access to the stairs and elevator. The breakfast selections were many, including fresh fruit. Electric kettle was in the room to make some morning coffee or tea, and lots of coffee options in the breakfast area, as well. The room was clean and well lit, and the bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a full length mirror in the room as well as good lighting in the bathroom for cosmetic needs. The hotel is close to some great restaurant options—as close as a 5 minute walk. And only a 9 minute walk to the Saarbrucken train station! The staff was very attentive and spoke English, which was super helpful as I have no German language skills! Because I am an ICG member, I was able to extend my check-out time by a couple of hours to accommodate a later departing train time. I appreciated being able to wait there rather than drag my luggage around town for two hours, passing time before catching my train.
